Notes
- Adjust Sweetness: Feel free to modify the sugar quantity based on your personal preference. If you’re looking for a healthier alternative, you can substitute sugar with honey, stevia, or other natural sweeteners.
- Customize the Spice Level: The traditional recipe uses cinnamon and cloves, but you can adjust the amounts to suit your taste. For a spicier kick, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or ginger.
- Storing the Mix: If you’ve made a batch of the dry Russian Tea mix, store it in an airtight container. It can last up to 6 months in a cool, dry place. This is a great option for preparing ahead of time or gifting to friends and family.
- Make It Iced: While Russian Tea is traditionally served hot, you can also serve it cold. Just add ice after preparing the tea, or refrigerate it for a couple of hours before serving.
- Substitutes for Tang: If you don’t have Tang, you can use another citrus-flavored drink mix, or opt for fresh orange juice or lemon juice to give the drink a fresh, zesty flavor.
- Add-ins: For a unique twist, try adding pineapple juice, fresh lemon zest, or even a splash of orange juice to your mix. These can enhance the citrus flavor and make the drink more vibrant.
