Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon of dried mullein leaves
- 1–2 cups of boiling water
- Optional: honey, lemon, or sweetener of your choice
Instructions
- Boil the water: Bring 1-2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat.
- Steep the mullein leaves: Place 1 tablespoon of dried mullein leaves into a tea infuser or directly into your cup. Pour the hot water over the leaves.
- Let it steep: Allow the tea to steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer it.
- Strain the tea: Remove the infuser or strain the tea to remove the mullein leaves.
- Add optional sweeteners: Add honey, lemon, or any sweetener of your choice for flavor.
- Serve and enjoy: Stir well and enjoy your soothing mullein tea!
Notes
- Straining the leaves: Mullein leaves can be coarse, so make sure to strain the tea properly to avoid any residue in your cup.
- Sweeteners: While the tea has a mild, earthy flavor, adding honey or lemon can enhance the taste, especially if you prefer a sweeter tea.
- Adjusting strength: For a stronger tea, increase the steeping time or add more mullein leaves. For a milder brew, reduce the steeping time.
- Storage: Mullein tea is best enjoyed fresh, but you can store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Reheat before serving.
- Health precautions: If you’re pregnant, nursing, or taking medication, consult with a healthcare professional before drinking mullein tea regularly.
